just remember what's the average transfer rate (in KB/s) during "normal" d/l (from some fast server) and multiply it by 8, add a little more and you'll get your speed ;)

I USED to have 256k DSL, but Verizon was EVIL and overcharged us by a few hundred dollars so we went back to 56k for 6 months and after we moved we got what we have now.

128k...So far I'm the only one! Woooo! LOL.

I know nothing about connection speeds and stuff like that but my modem has 56k written on it. I'm guessing that isn't particularly impressive judging by some of the speeds you guys have been quoting.
I just got this particular modem today though and it's waaaay faster than the last one I had so I'm not gonna complain about it. :D

At home, I'm lucky to get over 30kbps with a 56K modem (very poor phone lines). If I have any significant downloading to do, I go to work and use my office machine with a direct ethernet connection (10Mbps). In practice, the best speed I've seen is ~2.8Mbps.

Technically, 8Mbps (upload/download) VDSL
But the average speed is about 1Mbps. :(

Okay this is nothing about us but when my friend downloads he has 100mb/s!!!
He even showed me a bloody SCREENSHOT! Jesus christ!

Edit: Is that even possible or does he have Photoshop skills? :confused:
