Yes, but everybody in the music business loved it. Teenagers loved it too. TV stations loved it too - even if some had to cut the kiss, just tATu performing or showing the video would improve their ratings. So basically tATu were a well-accepted phenomenon right from the beginning. Of course there were some prudes complaining, but the majority of people was up for it.

We understand what the producer of the project says. Which are vague things, that he thinks make him sound unique and very smart, but is nothing but cheap philosophy. Anyway, what he says about this project shows no true message, it's just a bunch of pseudo-intellectual garbage that leads to nowhere.

And Shap himself said in an interview about tATu that "if there was no message, it wouldn't work". So, nATo will not work because the message does not exist, only shock and one song, except that there is not much left, except "people see what they want to see"  Duh.

I would add that there was some duspute on the group itself but there weren't any debates whether the image is right or wrong. So basically, Staringelf is right.

Ivan doesn't just said things .. he made it happened .. he put them on your face .... he made you face it .. that is why you are here to talk about it..

now the image on this girl in burqa .. aren't they another human beings .. hurt and lost everything .. has no choice.. has nothing left to live for .. Ivan said the message is love.. so she is not two pretty teenage lesbians kissing in the rain .. what is love to her? I hope to find that in the lyric translation... maybe someday...

but if you choose to denial them ... and hope they will stop themselves... or that you wont by any chance be one of their "innocent" victims ... ( who is innocent anyway? ) .. so you think you can care less about it.. avoid them... or simply try not to even think about it... because they make you sick...

:none: .. now I really really need the translation of the lyric!

Oh yes? And what exactly did he make happen? He recorded some song and shot a video and organized a tasteless publicity stunt for a concert? Wow, he's my idol!

"Has no choice"? "Nothing to live for"? There is always choice. Whatever happens to your life, you still have yourself. And innocent ones shall not pay for whatever bad things that happened to you. So if your life is a living hell, you have "no choice" but to blow up a building where there are people who didn't have anything to do with the things that happened to you? Spare me! Of course they are human beings, and they should behave like such, terrorism is an option for cowards, just like suicide. Don't come tell me "Oh but look suicide bombers are also people, they have feelings", exactly, they are people and have feelings, and they should care about people that have feelings too, everyone should, no matter what color, race or spiritual beliefs. The "eye for an eye" thing is a primitive, ruthless concept that does not apply to the World I want to live in, which is a world of tolerance. If you think "an eye for an eye" motto is ok and you excuse terrorism/suicide bombers, then you cannot defend love.

And using such an atmosphere for a publicity stunt without any positive message is nothing but bad taste and only shows ignorance.

And what "sickness" are you talking about, specifically? Or you just like to say vague things like your idol Shapovalov?

QueenBee 28-11-2004 00:39

Well, I think the project in itself is very... raw. And I like it actually. Because it shows another truth.

Ivan is saying things that for some don't make sense... But to me, it is more complicated... He says things, but not straight-forward... Things that make you wonder and speculate... Things that you discuss and try to figure out on message boards. ;)

I like the fact that Shap's projects are different. Tatu weren't managed well enough, alot of concerts were cancelled, but maybe it was for the better? 'Cause people didn't tire, people like us. People wanted more, because they got close to nothing at times. So we craved for more and sticked with it... and we are still here now, almost 5 years after Tatu started, and there is still no 2nd album. So what keeps us here?

Wow, sorry for going off-topic. Go Shap *woo*

I'm just hangin' out here, nothing else. I'm here for the atmosphere and the people on this forum. As for tATu, I would like to see them succeed because they come from Russia and could bring something new to the western show biz, and I find that extremely interesting, because I think everybody from every country should have a chance in Europe and America. But if they aren't managed properly, if they don't get more vocal training, and if they don't get some lessons on body expression and stage presence, I doubt they will ever succeed as *real artists*, and not just lipsynching puppets. But I will keep coming to this place whenever I have the time, because I like it, not because of tATu, because I like most people here, most people here are not gullable.
