Eurovision 2012(Azerbaijan)
I can't believe we're so close to 2012, years pass too quick:)
We can discuss about your countries' participations and songs. We already have Ivı Adamou for Cyprus and Miro Smajda for Slovakia. Miro's song called Baby is nice to me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ifT5pSQhyw |

Great ! We will not win ! :D
No money to spend on Eurovision in France. :o |

9 out of 10 candidates are now known. You can compare their performances at their introduction this Monday here. The favourites are the first one, "!DelaDap" (made the best impression to me) and the last two, Valerie ( :bum: ) and Conchita Wurst ( :bum: :bum: :bum: ), the darling of the aforesaid community. The 10th competitor will be from rapper Sido's artificial band out of his tv casting soap opera 'Blockstars' (currently running on Austrian TV), with absolutely no chance, they are a hopeless case. In summary, "!DelaDap" have the only decent song, but are like most Austrian candidates just for small stages, while "Trackshittaz" are the only ones able to perform on big stage, but with a song not even worth mentioning. |
I think Trackshittaz is still pure fun! Worse than last year, I agree. This kind of weirdness from Austria went very well in 2003 and gave its best placement in last years, why can't it do it again?

And what about Russia, Argos?

But best of all, somebody out there (not in a tatu forum!) told that the only promising candidate would be Yulya Volkova - she has the voice of an opera-diva. |
Im not gonna be surprised if she appear there frankly :D

OMG I love Quest Pistols and I hope very much that they will be selected sometime!!!!

Yesterday I watched the Ukrainian decision, more to watch the next scandal than for musical reasons. Well, no scandal unfortunately, but quite a good competition. It lacked the really great songs and performances but the quality of almost all the songs and performances was at least above average, even the bloody amateurs were hardly any worse than the professionals.
The winner is Gajtana (Gajta Lourdes Essami her true name) with the song Be My Guest, by far not one of her best songs, but she showed as always a remarkable stage presence. Second was Max Barskih with Dance. A good entry, but not exactly a winner song. The opera singer Oksana Nesterenko became third, with a song from the German ESC-composer Oldie Ralph Siegel, Mondo Blu. Great voice and not a bad composition. My personal favourite was Renata Stiefel with the song Love In Sunlight Rays, not only because it was written by Alyosha, who represented Ukraine in 2010. Unfortunately the young lady is practically unknown, so she didn't even have to expect a lot of SMS votes, however she won that part of the vote with huge margin. The professional jury obviously had a presentiment of that and voted her only at No. 16 of 21 contestants, the total result was No. 6 then. Seems very unfair, but it's understandable. Which neighbour country would vote for her in Baku, if nobody knows her? My highlight of the evening was in the part during the voting with Zlata Ognevich's performance of One Day. Her producer composed the song for Eurovision, but after the nerve-kililing scandal of last year there was no way to persuade her for another ESC competition. |

Trackshittaz won the Austrian selection against all odds and Baku is spared the performance of the beard-woman. Anyway, the song contest will never be the same any more. The village disco rappers will change Eurovision forever with their "Shake your bum!" (Woki mit deim Popo!)
Their self-evaluation: "We don't meet the highest standards!" (Oh really? :D ). Whatever, The future of ESC is rural-proletarian! :coctail: |
Romours say that Yulia Volkova :) has recorded a song with Dima Bilan for Eurovision.

So far the almost sure (better known) candidates for next week's selection will be Karina Koks (ex-Slivki), Shinshilly, Elena Terleeva (yummy!), Buranovskie babushki, Bilan & Volkova (ouch!), Timati & Aida (help!), Ed Shul'zhevskij, 4Post, probably Pavla, Mark Tishman. Alltogether - looks like a desperate crowd. Russia has again serious trouble to get interesting artists for the selection. |
I like Ed Shulzevskij and Mark Tishman. Yul and Dima.. Hmm.. I don't think they will win but I guess it's good for their careers. Let's hope the song is not as shitty as aboy

I would love to see them in Eurovision. Would be a reason to watch but I don't have high expectations because it's a hard competition in Russian selection.
