forum access
 

I have been having trouble accessing the forum on my dell laptop - it shows the techinical difficulties page. i don't know why that is, can anyone help?

ummm, to quote Tina, who was quoting Xena... did you enter those numbers in the summer in the host file? if yes, remove them and you will be fine... i think

Greg thegurgi is having the same problems. :( Which folder are these host files in?

i remember adding them but not the exact pathway, does anyone remember it? i can only access the forum when i'm away from home in between class so that doesnt afford me time to search for it

This sucks. Apparently the reason why TvA hasn't been on here in ages is cos he can get access either.
I guess I'm lucky that I haven't experienced any access problems myself.

the file is named "hosts" and is located in windows/system32/drivers directory.
open it using "notepad" and delete all the lines (i think there are 3 of them) containing "tatysite" and then save and close.
after that (just for check) run command prompt and type "ping forum.tatysite.net" and you should get some numbers of sent and received packages and data loss.
if all went well...you're back on track again :epopcorn:

edit: and if that's the only reason why TvA hasn't been here, i hope this helps and he gets back here again soon ;)

I get message "You can nly make one search every 20 seconds" or soemthing along those lines. WTF???? I come here after couple of hours and I get this.

Also what hapened to email notifications? Again.

the destination folders listed for the different windows versions can be loacted here

The notifications are working fine for me. Try to log in and out of the forum and clear cookies in the meantime. Think that solution worked for me once.

I have a different problem. I can't be logged on for more then lets say 30 minutes.... after that it automaticaly logs me out. Kinda annoying. :none:

from the top of head: how are your cookie settings? Could the cookies be deleted after the time area?

My cookie settings are OK. So are all the other internet related settings. It's just this forum I'm having problems with.
