this is germanys best eurovision song poll.shame they dont have t.A.T.u.and the voting system sux!you can vote for a thousand times by clickng the button for more than once.i want ruslana to get higher and this is why im writng about it in here.(by the way i heard somewhere that tatu had an argument with ruslana.is it true?)

freddie 03-02-2006 15:32

I'm very disappointed with our pick. Plan B is such a mediocre song. A ballad that switches to an up-tempo disco song... come on... that's been done before by Donna Summer. With much more pleasurable results. Plus those synth seemed to travel to our time straight from the 1982, due to a disturbance in the space/time continuoum.

I think the second choice Mandoline (which actually won the telephone poll, but then lost since the jury of so called "experts" gave it null points), would have had much better chances to excel at Eurovision. It's uptempo, catchy, tacky... all the ingredients you need for a successful entry. Plus it reminds me somewhat of Ruslana Lyzhicko's equally tacky Wild Dances, which actually won in 2004.

But to be honest non of these two are really worth mentioning if you judge them according to non-Eurovision standards - as run-of-the-mil pop songs. They're both pretty terrible in that respect. Chosing the one to like better is like asking whether it'd be better to die of rabbies or hepatitis C.

I think that Eurovision became a competion of Est Europe Nation!!!

fanoff 03-02-2006 20:26

thts right but enjoyable,isnt it?

spyretto 03-02-2006 21:07

The only song I heard before was the Albanian entry and it sounds too much like last year's entry, so I dunno. Is the ethnic trend still strong?
The Polish song sounds ordinary with the usual quirky male voice. They should try something more dramatic
Vissi is a bit old for Eurovision, I'd expect someone younger but we can expect the usual nonsense from Greece - that does so well  Then I heard that Nana Mouscouri will play a part in selecting the song for Greece and that Vicky Leandros wants to participate for Germany...so I guess Demis Rousos might represent France and we can always count on our old Cliff for keeping it real for Britain

Anyway, the show will be hosted by Sakis Rouvas and an undisclosed female presenter (some rumours say Jennifer Anniston but I wouldn't hold my breath about that.)

Last year's show was very good so will see how my compatriots will fair. The whole thing is expected to cost 12 million euro

Couldn't they be spending that on more worthy things?

I wonder how many children 12 million euro could save... :lalala:

I didn't really like the song at first though, but second listen and I liked it
Denmark - Sidsel Ben Semmane - Twist Of Love video
Denmark - Sidsel Ben Semmane - Twist Of Love - audiotrack

fanoff 12-02-2006 17:09

the danish entry is cool but not good enough to achieve the top result in the ESC.as for Turkey, our song has been selected(its been written and composed and will be sung in esc by SIBEL TUZUN,the strong woman in voice and in life as well) but itll be presented on March 4.its said that our song will be an up-tempo ong as the most eurovision songs

Ok song but really not so interesting.

Unimportant fact: Also in 1987 Norway had a girl named Gulbrandsen competing in Eurovision. Her first name was Kate and the song was called Mitt Liv (My life). I still like that song.
Kate Gulbrandsen (ESC 1987) - Mitt Liv

Lol, that show has lost all meaning, most performers no longer sing in the language of the country they represent, and some are not even from the country they represent, total nonsense.

KillaQueen 13-02-2006 04:43

not to mention the music is total nonsense. people try to bring back genres which died a long time ago, hoping they'd be the ones to revive them. some 'revival' songs aren't so bad though (if you like the originals), such as denmark's twist song for this year. but what these competitors fail to see is that this contest only made 2 or 3 artists/bands big. well, only one - ABBA - if you ask me, but that's another story. Celine Dion doesn't count, as her fame came almost a decade later. the others were just one hit wonders (and maybe not even that). what is the point? :dknow:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/eurovision/2006/mymu/

the candidate songs for the uk entry has been declared yesterday and the most famous of them is anthony costa from the boyband blue.check the competitors out,i liked the song
all about you(reminds me of AAU) by the band called city chix with two girls

haku 17-02-2006 19:04

The UK always sends its shittiest artists at Eurovision, this year is no exception. And i'm not dissing, France does the same.

fanoff 17-02-2006 19:12

right!all about you sounded nice but theres no chance for other songs

fanoff 18-02-2006 18:43

the irish entry has been selected!
its from brian kennedy and called every song is a cry for love
its a cool ballad but have no idea if its gonna do well in the eurovision

tonight the song of iceland will be defined

edit(2 days later):the songs of iceland, switzerland and belgium has been picked.swiss song is a typical eurovision ballad by a group with 6 singers from different countries.belgian song is not that typical for eurovision but a typical pop song.the iceland entry is to be considered as a joke entry sung by a woman called sylvia nott(its not her real name, the woman acts like a stupid woman)

until today we got to know the songs of 11 countries.by march 21,all the songs will be known..........

forre 27-02-2006 12:53

I had a look at two first rounds of the Swedish preselection. One step forward, zwei zuruck. Horrible. Rip-offs all around. Unbelievable. I really hope some one sues them for plagiarism. :bum:

KillaQueen 27-02-2006 13:30

Romania has also chosen its representative. Mihai Traistariu - 'Tornero'. no comment :none:

fanoff 27-02-2006 15:40

i watched the romanian final and i think they made a good show even if i dont understand what they speak.2005 entry of moldova was there(my fav ones) and i think they selected the most suitable song for the eurovision(my favourite was dora withy brand new feeling).jokero cant even sing and indiggo was antipathetic, the jury favourite fat lady was just like the malta entry of 2005.i promised that i will vote for this song if it wins the final,it won,so...........

KillaQueen 27-02-2006 15:52

fanoff, i didnt watch the show. i only saw the end, when the guy was singing his song, so i imagined it must have been the winner. anyway, if you say that this song was better than the others, i believe you ;)

puhh.....:D

Offtop:
the german entry will be shit as every year after max mutzke & stefan raab. I can think that Vicky Leandros will win. New show with only 3 bands/singers.
No good young artist want to participate because Stefan Raab started his own "eurovision" called "Bundesvision" where every state of germany can send 1 artist. (like eurovision just only for germany)

The UK entry has now been decided. Teenage Life by Daz Sampson.

Official information from the BBC and if you click on the "find out more" link and wait a few seconds, you will hear the song.

There may be a problem though, as the song, without the rap, has already been released. Check out the comments here

zebu 05-03-2006 00:54

forced by the forces of hangover to stay at home i watched dora, competition where they pick the song for eurovision. i was shocked by the low quality of most songs, the vulgarity of the singers and well everything. the peak of the evening was severina, the biggest star of croatia ever since the homemade porno movie in which she has the lead female role. anyway her song "shtikla" won as predicted. if u r wondering what shtikla is, its the very high heeled shoe. and the lyrics go smthing like this: jer josh trava nije nikla tamo gdje je stala moja stikla= cos there's still no grass where i stepped with my high heeled shoe. :) how lovely, anyway i believe she will do very well cos shes quite popular beyond borders in ex-yugo countries. and yeah i think this is the most embarrasing song ever representing my country.

here u go, fast after the glorious win tonigh here on tatysite Severina - Moja Shtikla

Юлян Julian 05-03-2006 00:59

Lol Las Ketchup, they really sucked :)

they had a massive hit in 2002, and released the album which ad like 6 trakcs on it and a billion remixes :P
