Coldplay

Since there wasn't a thread related to Coldplay in the English forum, I thought of creating one.

A brief bio:
Quote:

Coldplay are a British alternative rock band formed in London, England in 1998. The group comprises Chris Martin (lead vocals, keyboards, guitar), Jonny Buckland (lead guitar), Guy Berryman (bass guitar), and Will Champion (drums, backing vocals, other instruments).
Coldplay achieved worldwide fame with the release of their single "Yellow", followed by their debut album, Parachutes (2000), which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Its follow-up, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), won multiple awards, including NME's Album of the Year. Their next release, X&Y (2005), received a slightly less enthusiastic yet still generally positive reception. The band's fourth studio album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), was produced by Brian Eno and released again to largely favourable reviews, earning several Grammy nominations and wins. Coldplay have sold over 50 million albums. Coldplay's early material was compared to acts such as Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, U2, and Travis. Since the release of Parachutes, Coldplay have drawn influence from other sources, including Echo and the Bunnymen, Kate Bush and George Harrison on A Rush of Blood to the Head, Johnny Cash and Kraftwerk for X&Y and Blur, Arcade Fire and My Bloody Valentine on Viva la Vida. Coldplay have been an active supporter of various social and political causes, such as Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign and Amnesty International. The group have also performed at various charity projects such as Band Aid 20, Live 8, Sound Relief, and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
I'm giving links to download their albums:

I love coldplay, their music is really cool at least to me I so love their album
a rush of blood to the head, I think that album is one of the best ever made in music, really amazing
they are so calm and so energetic at the same time, when they are playng live.
but IMHO Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends is not a so good, they`ve done better stuff actually.

Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends is different from the other albums. They said that they considered the first three albums as a "trilogy". However, I love it. It's the album that made me a fan of Coldplay. My favorite song is Lovers in Japan. Love it !

My favourite song from CD 'Viva La Vida..' is "42" and I like "Lovers in Japan".

Today I'm listening to Kylie Minogue & Coldplay - 'Luhna'

I have no idea, but at present they are in the middle of a world tour, so maybe they will take a break after that.

Keep an eye on http://www.coldplay.com/ and while you're there, download the free live tracks. Click on "Left Right Left Right Left"on the main page.

Apparently it's fake, because they are working on their new album, which will be "slower" than Viva La Vida (Chris said so.)

FiorE 10-07-2009 03:37

slower than viva la vida?, I hope it doesnt sound crap!, well if they do sth similar to a rush of blood to the head everything would be perfect!

Endri 10-07-2009 03:51

i don't think Coldplay will ever do sth crappy. Even though people keep saying that they songs sound the same but I find all their albums different from each other. Thus, I don't think there will be A Rush of Blood to The Head Vol. 2, it will be sth new and perfect, too. :D

FiorE 11-07-2009 03:40

I dont know what else could they try, that cant go further their style, they are a slow band when it`s about their sound and it`s amazing, as long as they dont do some awkard collaboration with people from hip hop and r&b all good, cause I will seriously lose all my respect to them if they ever do sth with ppl like kanye or jz or any rapper.

Endri 11-07-2009 04:43

lol i dont think they'll do sth like this. their collaboration with Jay-Z in Lost+ was considered only a remix and nothing more.

I just like some songs from A Rush Of..(the scientist, clocks etc.) and their little cover of ATTSS in one of their concerts, nothing more.
