::counterpart for the slavic thread:: Spanish Talkers!
 

Seeing it as thought there's a lot of Spanish speakers in here, I decided to post a counterpart for cool's "Slavic Languages" thread. As this is a general forum and the Spaniard forum is ALL about tATu, I decided to post it here so that everyone reads it and even wants to join.

Here, you can practice your spanish (hence, I dunno why I am speaking in English), do comparisons, etc. :P If you even wanna learn, jump up.

PD: The thread is not limited only to spanish, so if you do not speak spanish but wanna join to learn, there is no problem. :P

ok... creo que ya lo saben que yo hablo espanol tambien... y porque no hacemos de este 'thread' uno para gente que sabe/esta interesada/quiere estudiar los idiomas latinos generalmente (italiano, espanol, frances, portugues y rumano)... creo que estaria mejor... que me dices?... puede tambien ser un lugar donde se encuentran italianos, franceses etc. y platican en su lengua o algo asi... bueno... no veo mucha gente hasta ahora lol.

This is soemthing I always wanted to ask somebody who speaks spanish. What does Santiago mean (e.g. Santiago de Campostela-which I think is a cathedral)?

Santiago is a name.

El espanol que yo uso no es ideal para otros que quieren aprender el idioma.

Even though Spanish is my first language I rarely use it outside of home. I never learned how to write it so I just spell phonetically. So if you ever see me misspell anything don't hang me for it. As for accent markers, I'm too lazy to look at the Character Map.

Darje great idea. To bad I don't speak spanish. Hopefully you will say something in englsih now and again:D

By the way, same thing goes for 'our' slavic thread, whoever wants to ask/learn anything in any Slavic language, come and we will teach. :D

luxxi, Santiago is either,
1. A name, as in Santiago Alfredo (Alfredo is whole for freddie :P)
2. A place, as in Santiago de Chile (in Chile, the country just below the equator).
3. The name of a place, as in that cathedral you mentioned.

coolasfcuk, correction for you to speak better the next time: "excusa, no comprende" should be "perdon, no comprendo" (excusa is excuse, better to use perdon which means forgive me, comprende is in third person. :P) And you're welcome to learn around this thread nonetheless, we don't want you roaming around the world without the world's fourth most spoken language. :P

Lol. :P Killa, how do you think I learned English? It was not by going to the school, I tell you... I had to read and hear and talk and that's more or less the way I learned it. Same went with Italian, that I speak and more or less understand. I also have started learning tidbits of Russian by hearing Russian friends talk and videos and interviews, tho I still have lots of difficulty understanding it... but it'd be no problem to learn ANOTHER language. So, yes, enseсame rumano!! :P

Tom Violence, bбsicamente, tu espaсol estб bastante bueno. Tienes que mejorar algunas fallas gramaticales, pero sigue hablando y te dirй donde tienes errores y las mejores maneras de corregirlos. :)

Hehe I learned english from cartoons when I was a little kid and I learned spanish from 16 years of my parents talking to me in spanish :)

Tom Violence, the difference between "tu" y "usted" is just a matter of respect. "Tu" is like the "you" you use with friends, while "usted" is more respectful, like when with someone you just met. It's a matter of practice! Go have some fun with SalsaChick, she'll teach you a lot! :D

KillaQueen, empecemos con lo sencillo porque no quiero que te me pongas impaciente... :P Que tal si empezamos con las expresiones de cortesia? "Buenos dias", "buenas tardes", "buenas noches", "hola", "adios", "mi nombre es...", esas que uno tiene que saber porque si no no sabe nada. :P

smilie faces: si, el rumano es, despues de todo, un idioma de origen latino, asi que es normal que tenga cosas en comun con las otras lenguas... la cosa que es especifica en cuanto al rumano es la influencia eslavica... como para el espanol fue la influencia de los arabes.

I think that Killa said that Romanian is a language with latin origin and so it has many common stuff with other languages, but the specific thing about romanian is it's slavic influence while spain has more arabic influences? Si? :D

Come on ... it's pretty obvious...rumano es... origen latina...normal que tenga... las otras lenguas.....que es specifica en cuanto al rumano .....influencia slavica...espanol fue la influencia de los arabos....

Some words are pretty international, while I guessed the others, as simple as that. No mushrooms for me. :D

In fact she should have said "origen latino" and "influencia eslavica", but it's pretty fun to read it that way. :P

Infact I understand it better the way she wrote it. Go figure:dknow:
