Here's how:
Go to any of these places and put the URL for the video in the box.
http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php
http://keepvid.com/ (make sure you choose "Youtube", there are a bunch of other options aswell so you can pretty much download from any video site)

After you put in the URL, download the video from the fresh link that has appeared.
It will either save itself as a .php, .flv or blank file. Just change the extension to .flv.

You now have the video that you can play in VLC media player, or FLV player, but what I do is I convert it to .avi or .mpg or whatever using Total Video Converter. It's a trial version you download, though. But it's great in my opinion.

You can also get help on how to convert it to a different file here:

(copied + pasted from my own post in another thread AGAIN haha :D)

If you are a Firefox (1.5/2.0) user, this little extension will also do the job :
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/

For flv to avi conversion you can also use this simple exe program. It's simple, fast & free. Just run flvconverter.exe
