Today is a big day for every fan of football - Champions Ligue final. I still remember last year final when Liverpool goalkeeper was Jerzy Dudek from my country. It was so exciting, Liverpool from 0:3 come to win. I hope that today we get also a lot of emotions.

Can't wait for the start of the World Cup on June 9. It's nice to see some new qualifiers: Trinidad, Ecuador, Ghana, Togo, Angola, Switzerland, and AUSTRALIA! I'm so glad Australia finally made it in - I have family that live there. This is only their second appearance ever, and first in 32 years. They really should have made it in before now, but they were forced to play qualifiers against teams from South America or Asia. But being with Brazil, Japan, and Croatia, I'd be surprised if they win a game.

It's also interesting with what's going on in the world right now that Iran qualified. But the other countries in their opening group are not ones that they have a real beef with: Mexico, Angola, and Portugal.

I thought that the U.S. seemed to have a pretty tough group until I checked their world rankings. Italy, Czech, and Ghana. Czech is ranked #2, the U.S. is ranked #4 (!!), Italy is 14 (!!). I don't know what happened to the U.S. team, but I'll believe it when I see it.

yeah ref should have let the goal stood and then not have sent off Jens Lehrman but silly ref likes sending people off! He is the ref that sent of Del Horno of Chelsea when they played Barcelona... I think ref must be a Barca fan LOL

I doubt that. If he was he'd probably allow the goal. Sending Lehman off was a lesser penalty.

One of the sideline referees was infact a Barca fan though. He's been suspended from the game some days before when he was seen pictured in a local newspaper wearing a Barcelona jersey. :p

Yeah, this is the only place in the world where those sorry has-beens still have a career:
in Deutschland. Their last country song sold really well :bum:

It says a lot about our European cousins’ musical taste.

Now, THAT's a good one, coming from a country that HAS taste in music
Didn't they unleash RSF to the world? weren't they number one in Britain circa 1992?...hmm, never mind then

You spelt "football" wrong. ;)

You spelt "spelt" wrong..it's spelled. Where on earth did you get "spelt" from.

I might go to Munich if I have time. Not to watch the match (the tickets are sold out for months anyway), but rather to savour the vibe of fans. There's somekind of an aura of jubilation around fans attending a major sporting event and I love it. :p

I root for (how typical of me) Brazil! Sorry but I think they have the most impressing squad out there. And not just cause of Ronaldinho. This team gels. Much more than they did in 2002. That doesn't mean they'll win automatically though. Actually I don't even care who wins as long as it's not the Germans (I'm not racist, I just don't like the defensive football their current team displays... but I know it can be effective). Other than that it'd be cool to have an African team in the finals for a change (Senegal came mighty close in 2002 and this year Ivory Coast looks very impressive; especially Drogba... might be a good incentive for the 2010 WC in South Africa).
If I had to put money on it though... I'd say we'll see a South American team vs an European team in the finals (like we did for the last... *counts*... 4 WCs?) I'd also say eternal loosers England as well as Italian lotharios will make their dramatic exit after their group stages. :p

Group of death:
Holland (one of the strongest European squads... always in contention for the to spot... yet always with bad luck of some kind), Serbia & Monte Negro (last time as an unified country... Monte Negro separated from Serbian not long ago), Ivory Coast (awesome team; trashed us 3:0 in a friendly a week ago), Argentina ('86 champions, they'll be trying to put the national tragedy of 02 behind them... I think this is the best Argentinian squad since mid 90s)

Group D: Portugal (coached by Scolari who was Brazil's coach in 2002 when they were champions), Mexico (better than ever), Iran (not to be underestimated but I doubt they'd win against Potugal or Mexico), Angola (same).

spyretto
08-06-2006, 13:43
Yeah, Ivory Coast are a VERY good team, so talented. Hope they don't become some sort of early victims..and if there's a football god Brazil should win it but I fear they're gonna make a few "decisions" and "adjustments" in the fifa headquarters to ensure that they wouldn't ( or Brazil could even choke themselves under the pressure as they did in WC 98 :( ).
I'm curious to see how Portugal will cope after the Euro - in theory they got one of the best teams and now they got the experience as well. As for Holland, I don't think that they're as strong as they used to be in earlier competitions
( most of the players are from the Dutch domestic league and their big stars have struggled in their respective clubs - but we'll see ). Argentina also have a strong team individually so it depends on the style of football; but Mexico is advertised far too much by various sources and so I don't think they'll go far - I expect them to be one of the early victims. Italy are a bit of a mystery to me. They got lots of great players but I don't like the style of football they play in that country at the moment. Spain are of course perrenial mysteries as to how they end up being losers all the time; Germany are simply not good enough to win it. I'm also looking forward to watching the socceroos.
I also hear that Japan have worked wonders recently under Zico and experts are saying that they're gonna be as hyper as South Korea were in 2002 ( if not better ). But I haven't seen them playing as yet.
As for England, if they're knocked out early it would be great for football :p
But it seems they're destined to go a long way :bum:

Most favourites are disappointing so far. Germany brilliant in offence but their defence was laughable. A good team would destroy them yesterday. Goooooooooo Trinidad & Tobago!! I'm impressed!!! Sweden should be very, very ashamed of themselves.. Their game today was sooo pathetic and ugly.. I should have known. A US American that likes football must be an immigrant. :)

Well is in the Caribe. Though it still has to classify within the group of Central America.

Well, now, I know that, too. I thought its an african team. Here we call that a "classic own goal". Fits right with the football context. Tried to erase it before anyone notices, but your quote came quicker.
So much to the myth, that only Americans suck in geography.

At times, Paraguay was dominating. They'd have deserved at least a draw. Losing because of an own goal in a 1-0 match is very bitter. I was disappointet by england after all the hype. They were not as strong as I expectet. Paraguay isn't Jamaica, after all.

spyretto
10-06-2006, 19:25
The important thing is that England won and will most likely qualify as winners of the group while Sweden will have to fight it out with Paraguay. So despite their lacklustre performance they're in with a very big chance to go at least to the semis.
So far I'm enjoying the matches. There's good rhythm and suspense, and I'm hoping the same for Argentina v Ivory Coast which comes next.

I can't wait to see Argentina vs Ivory Coast.. OLE OLE OLE.. ARGENTINA!!!!

BRAVOOOOO!!!, yesterday we watched the match at college,,,,, after we went to this disco and danced for hours, drinking bear (which I usually don't like), anyway, we were all so excited,,,, in this place called "Escalón 69" which actually fits in the 69th stair. We all sung these so well known Tricolor Songs 'till we had no more voice.

oh my, if ME, the BIG swedish fan was actually cheering for T&T in the second half... imagine  They were just so charming... and swedes looked pathetic... not to mention it was my (mind it a bit pathetic) chance to point @ sweden and laugh after all the BAD they've done to us LoL
and T&Ts goalie, who i guess wasnt even supposed to play today was fucking AMAZING!
Sweden will still qualify @ second place, but they will have to work harder for it now.

I dont care that much about Argentina vs Ivory Coast, thought i am always cheering for an underdog to make a surprise... esp since i dislike Argentina!

I am now awaiting tomorrow's Serbia vs Holland..... since Serbia is my clsest Balkaniers there, i am going to be a big supporter for them... not to mention that i HATE Holland!

and may i say here, thank god for Mexican American channels that you can get for FREE (with ghetto antena) around here, or else I would not be able to watch the games! not to mention their coverage is 100x better than the American ABC and ESPN channnels, who for a first time in history decided to GRACE us with actually showing ALL the games! WOW finally they are catching up on the sport..... but man, is it annoying to see the begining of the game CUT -- meaning, no national anthems showed..... and then the way they display players is like watching fucking american football - face shots of the defense line... offense line.... and ugly graphics that take up the WHOLE screen! That works for screwed up USA sports that have more time actually spent in non-playing and tactic planning, than actually ball in play, but damn, it is so annoying for football :none: oh and not to forget the INCOMPETANCE of the comentators, who miscall players all the time like 5 mins after a substitute they still keep calling out a name of a player who have just LEFT! more than once too, like til the end of the Swe - T&T game

A little update on today's matches:

-Serbia Montenegro - Holland 0-1.
The Serbians looked very unimpressive with a serious problem in scoring...looks like the weakest team of the group. Holland wasn't impressive either ( more like Robben's team ) but they were as tight as expected.

-Mexico - Iran 3-1
I think Mexico is a pretty decent team, the fact that they were playing Iran who have players with similar body types, caused them a few problems at first but they came through succesfully in the end.

Portugal - Angola 1-0
Portugal was the usual poor man's Brazil, they're playing exactly the same football that they did in Euro 2004. Angola was a classic African team, very athletic and exciting but occasionally naive ( they're getting more organised though )

So far the most tight unit looks to be Argentina. It's usually the Latin Americans who play the best football, the Africans add colour and athleticism and the Europeans are there to make up the numbers.

Deutschland, Deutsch, Dutch - all confusing for people who don't know :pWikipedia for example:
The term 'Holland' is commonly used as a synonym for the Netherlands, but the word Holland derives from a district in the west of the country that currently makes up two of the twelve provinces, namely North Holland and South Holland and may be considered offensive in other parts of the country.

Angola was a colony of Portugal if I recall.

I saw the whole game of Australia and Japan. The umpiring was really bad, and thankfully Australia got on the board so they didn't hand the game to Japan. I'm so happy they came back and won because without a win in that game, they had pretty much no chance of advancing. How often do you see 3 goals in less than 10 minutes? Not too often.

And the same old stuff from the US. They did hit the post once, but it wouldn't have mattered. That Czech team is gonna go a long way.

Czech R. on the other hand is the team that i like the most so far.. i am not sure iff it;s because they played against USA who were pretty pathetic, but when the czech had the ball they were fast to get at good position and boom- execute. Too bad the striker got injured, didnt look too good, but i hope they recover him for later.

tomorrow.... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Croatia! Though, poor croats have the worsty luck.. getting Brasil for your first game is tought, tougher than USA getting czech r. but still.... i am going for them.... i haaaaaaaaaaaate Brasil.. with passion! I only hate France with more passion... lol

Just watched France vs Switzerland. Like most favourites France sucked big time. Something tells me they're not a major conteder for the final glory. Zidane's still a master though. Those passes. The man has radar vision for sure.
A funny thing I've noticed. While La Marseillaise was playing they panned through the players and the first few blokes were black... they all sang along loudly and proudly... then the first white guy in line... and he just mumbled something... it seemed like he didn't know the words at all. I've noticed that cause the camera stayed on him for at least 30 seconds when the cameraman noticed he can't sing it. Fabulous. :p

Next up it's Croatia's turn to get a trashing from Brazil. I think so at least. Unless they're a further favourite to disappoint. But they should get past Croatia, though.

spyretto
13-06-2006, 19:22
I don't think all favourites sucked though. The Czech Republic was awesome, Italy was ok and Argentina very organised. France sucked big time and it's good that Zidane is retiring cause he's nothing but a shadow of his former self. And frankly, that team's expiry date is way past.

Lets hope that Brazil won't disappoint.

freddie
13-06-2006, 19:55
Yes, I forgot about the Czechs... they were fab. Though to be honest USA sucked and they'll still have to show way more with better teams. I never really qualified Czechs as the big 5 in my head, yeah I know they were great in the Euro and I know they're ranked high on Fifa's national chart (maybe I was doing them an injustice...) Italy was okay, but nothing special. Argentina was a bit better since they played against a better opponent but still no magic present. We'll see what Seleção does tonight..

French look as snails which seem bored to play!
The golden generation is getting old.

Bah... Brazil was lazy. They should have won easier. Croatians are realistically lightyears behind them quality-wise, but they didn't show it on the pitch today. Ronaldo looked slow and fat... Ronaldinho was just a shadow of his Barcelona self. Robinho is fast though. Whoa.

spyretto
13-06-2006, 22:09
Yeah, well done to Croatia, they were very organised and deserved something from the game. Brazil shouldn't go beyond the last 16 or the last 8 based on the evidence of that performance, they were poor and pedestrian.
It was a bad day today with boring matches. It looks like the tournament is going flat.

Hmm, freddie I'd expect a better prediction from you since Croatia was involved. ;)

freddie

Hmm, freddie I'd expect a better prediction from you since Croatia was involved. ;)
Croatia are a solid team but they're not THAT good. If Brazil performed like they should have it'd be a different story. This day is more about Brazil being a let-down than Croatia being a success. Two favourite teams really flopped today. If Brazil wants to win that 6th title they need to raise their game by a lot. Same with France. But I doubt France can raise their game from what I've seen. Today Henry wasn't the same man that brought Arsenal to the Chapmion's League finals. And he's supposed to be the cold executor for them.

Based on today's performance though Croatia vs Australia should be a bloody battle. Probably the deciding match for the second place in the 1/8 finals.

I'm not a Croatia hater. If they played against Germans I'd root for them. I just like Brazil is all, so obviously I'm kind of disappointed by tournament favourites showing less than their perfect game. I'm kind of a hater of Croatian fans though, who showed the true spirit of the Balkans today. Im all it's glory and misery.

Oh, I almost forgot about South Korea! Good match today. They were playing even more impressively in 02, but I like their fighting spirit. I wouldn't count the little fellas out. When luck's on their side they can battle it out with the best of them. I predict at least 1/8 finals for them.

It just occured to me that Germany might be doing a favour to Poland drawing this match. I don't think Ecuador will beat Coata Rica tomorrow . Drawing or losing , then Ecuador will be thrashed by Germany and then Poland will have to prove themselves to Germany by beating Costa Rica. Poland beats Costa Rica and qualifies as runner-up of the group. Neighbouring liaisons, kinda like Eurovision. Poland will of course return the favour at another opportunity.

So the final standings in the group should be:

Germany 7
Poland 4
Ecuador 4 or 3
Costa Rica 3 or 1

Comments? of course we know it's one half away from not happening just wait and see, lol.

By the way our team at work supports Sweden, it was a dumb decision by our manager. Other groups support England, Australia, Germany and France. Will be carrying the Swedish flag at the office, lol.

That's not like when some friends decide to fix some matches to get money from the bookmakers, this is game fixing of a higher order. ( where money go to the bookmakers ). The whole funding of the governing body of football is decided upon that tournament so errors cannot be tolerated.

First clashes were reported yesterday. Between Polish and German fans no less. Or should I say hooligans?

In any case... German "fans" greeted a group of their Polish peers with the infamous "Hitler salute" which spawned the riots. Classy...

Nah, the Poles hooligans are some of the worst in the world, that's all.

Watching Sweden v Paraguay now, those two seem destined for a draw no matter how hard they try.
Sweden in particular are abysmal,
I'm not surprised that forre is not participating in this discussion, she must be very much aware that Sweden have the worst team in recent memory and has preferred to keep quiet about the whole thing :p

If anything she should be rooting for zbornaya komanda rather than Swedes, I reckon. And they're not even in the tournament so she has no incentive really. :p

Yeah but Germany has a home advantage... remember where that took South Korea in 2002. They're trying to repeat "The Wonder Of Bern" from 1952.
Ops. Holland just slipped my mind. Damn those dutchmen... so easy to forget. :p ... They weren't very impressive against Serbia&MN. Roben is alright but they can't keep relying on him forever. The attack doesn't work as well as it should and I'm sure they'd never score a goal without him in the squad.

Now 5-0...as if Barcelona or Chelsea playing an amateur team from Spain or England. S&M don't know what hit them.

Now 6-0.. I feel sorry for the S&M fans who went to the game.

The second goal was something else...total football.

16-06-2006, 16:31
Whoa. Serbia&MN trashed. I certainly wasn't expecting that. I mean it's trut they had a lot of tension from inside the team (their coach even wanted to put his son in the squad for a while and ran into some serious protests and there were frequent reports of Serbian players arguing amongst themselves), but Argentina was mighty impressive. Kind of what many people expected from Brazil.

Why is S&M always having problems? The coach Petkovic is with them for a while - well not for long anymore, I guess - they got talent but it just doesn't work for them in big tournaments. This should be a wake-up call for them, they looked completely indifferent.
Argentina on the other hand are a force to be reckoned with. Lio Messi played in the last 20 minutes, scored one goal, made up another. That kid is great.
Looking forward for Holland - Ivory Coast, hopefully the Ivorians will cause a surpise there - though who can tell for sure. This World Cup has huge difference in level between the good and bad teams.

They probably WERE a bit disinterested. This is the last time Serbia&Mn playing together as one team. Monte Negro separated from Serbia recently and they'll have their own team from now on. So there was no national charge present probably. If you paid attention fans on the stands even booed and whistled when their current national anther was played for the last time in a major event. A sad sporting end to last two remaining joined pieces that once was Yugoslavia.

I don't think this team is very good and surely not a contender the way they're playing.

hehe, this thread is dying out because the World Cup of jokers plain sucks
Agree or agree?

some solid predictions for tomorrow.

Poland to grab 1st three points.
Trinidad - Paraguay draw
England Sweden draw.
Germany beats Ecuador.

Brazil is the biggest disappointment so far. A team of individual Brazilians rather than a solid unit. But all teams have shown weaknesess and have disappointed peope. I can't believe we're seeing so few goals, so few incidences and hardly anything interesting. Is this supposed to be good football? For me it's the worst World Cup I've seen in memory; I used to want to see all the matches but in this one I've already missed half a dozen and I don't feel like I've missed something. The only saving grace may be Argentina but we still have to wait and see if they can keep it up ( I personally think thay won't ).
In three words, this World Cup is Poor, poor, poor.
I can't even think of a player who has made an impact. It's all a big yawn and not worth the hype.

Oh I forgot to add that the big team of JOKERS so far is definitely France. Yeah they won the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship - all people remember what string of good fortune they had in the finals of both of those tournaments - but these successes had a backclash and they have shown NOTHING even since. And I'd enjoy it immensely if Korea and Switzerland played for an "exciting" draw that would keep France out...they should also change the cock of their emblem to a chick, after that.
Well, there are other fools as well ( like Italy, who think that by playing their usual crappy way in the second phase will confuse their opponents? - well, don't worry - you'll still go down in the end! ) but the biggest JOKERS of all are surely Les "got the' Blues ( can't stop laughing, sorry... )
And to think that they think themselves better than anybody else...LMAO

And how sure are we that they'll beat Togo if Swiss and Korea's game is nice to them? Trust me, these cocks can't beat anybody...I'd love to see them lose to Togo actually ;)

-Ribery? we were seeing this fool at the French league, how on earth can this be a striker ( and a hopefull one ) is beyond me.
-Zidane? OH PLEASE, HE SHOULD BE AT HOME WATCHING THE MATCHES NOT PLAYING. :bum:

The only decent player they got is Thierry Henry but he's not as productive for France as he's for Arsenal.

As for Domenech, I haven't seen such a clueless coach in my life. He surely doesn't know what to do to win a game.
Hmm, mewonders if the word "cocky" comes from the French...just an idea. They're so cocky, they even have a cock as an emblem.

Yeah, nothing against the French either, it's just that this team doesn't deserve to qualify. That's why I watch it at work or at a pub sometimes on purpose ;)
Oh well, I'm turning my allegiance from Australia to the other yellow team la Ukraina. It's good to see Shevcka and Rebrov back on form. Add Maksym Kalynychenko ( this guy is just great! ) so I dunno, I think they might do something special in this World Cup.
And anyway, not many Eastern teams left to support, After Bulgaria/Romania in 94, Croatia in 98 ( awesomeness ) Turkey in 02 ( well, I never supported them but whatever ), Greece in 2004 ( not a World Cup but u know ;) ) lets hail the Ukraine for 2006!

I saw that match vs England and Poland was always second best. I'm sure you can play some decent football but so can almost all of the East European teams. Even teams that didn't qualify, like Bulgaria, Slovakia and Hungary can control the ball well and play neatly. That doesn't mean they're a good team. Poland is missing out in organisation and commitment and their players are nothing special.
Even vs Germany Poland played well at times, still they couldn't pose a threat to Germany - at any time.
But since the argument is whether they can play, well, lets say they can, allbeit in patches. But I think that today Poland will win without playing well ( to prove that they didn't deserve to go any further than they actually did in the World Cup. )

They should start playin some ball now.

2-0 Germany, as predicted Miroslav Klose should be the first candidate for the golden boot now ( 2 goals today )

As predicted, Poland are winning but not only are they not playing well, they're embarassing. Linesman was kind to them disallowing a seemingly normal goal for the Costas and Ricas. I think Poland was the worst European World Cup team and certainly one of the worst teams in the tournament, maybe good enough to be Saudi Arabia, but that says absolutely nothing

Great match.
We totally controlled the first 60 minutes. After the comfortable 3:0 lead, we went easy on and Ecuador got stronger, but they still didn't play with passion and aggressive enough. It seems they already accepted the defeat.
Of course, Klose is the match winner, but the most important thing is, that Poldi finally scored and boosted his confidence.
Now, I can't wait to see, who we'll get in the last sixteen. Trinidad & Tobago would be awesome.
But I'm afraid, that if we win, we'll be defeated by Argentina in the quarter final.

Couldn't see Poland play today, but I don't think, they were THAT bad in the world cup. They had a pretty tight defence in the match against Germany. And today, they knew, that they'll go home, so they had nothing to gain.

Extra weight sure doesn't help, but he showed today he can still score if a nice opportunity arises. He's nowhere near the level of 2002 WC (not to mention 1998 WC where he truly was the best player in the world).

Mr Goose - with the golden eggs- Hiddink would have done nothing if the Croats didn't choke...they should be chased in Zagreb and be hanged upside down by example!
I beg your pardon? I think Australians played mighty well all game. Crotians literaly disappeared after that early goal was scored. All reporters here agree Croatia didn't deserve to lead two times in the match. They were way inferior to Aussies.

But how can you even put the two together in the same sentence, that's what I meant! DONT!! :p

Don't matter...the fact is that they choked. They were up 2-1 ( by a string of good fortune ) they panicked and eventually died a horrible death...and they're as stupid and disorganised as the Serbs...wtf with the handballs? are they retarded? Their stupidity cost me 50 pounds! :bebebe:

I'd have gone to Germany and watched the match instead like that! :p

It's comparatively possible. A spectacular player (98) vs an above average player (02) vs an average player possibly on the upswing. (now)... if these two goals give him some flight he could become an above average player again.

I think the score was less so result of Croats choking than Aussies doing a fabulous job applying the pressure when they were behind. No Guus, No Glory!

In any case... all slavic teams aside from Ukrainians are over and out. This is all down to the "loser-in-the-end" mentality, I reckon. :p
That might change in 2010 with a little help from Hiddink-magic. :D

spyretto

The best Ronaldo was before '98, maybe 96 and 97 but not '98 nor '02...and the Ukrainians should make it through...
ok whateva...now wish luck to Jack Lemmon (http://fpli.premierleague.com/images/fplwc-players/27.jpg) coaching the Swiss tomorrow!

The Aussies doing fabulous job? they're crap! Luckily for them they ended up playing a strong team so they'll have excuses for getting thrashed in the next round...

freddie
22-06-2006, 23:33
Ronaldo was at his best in 97, but I was comparing his WC performances.

Crap team? Wanna make a bet? I bet they eliminate Italians in the next round. The history likes to repeat itself. ;)

spyretto
22-06-2006, 23:35
haha, dream on!
No matter how much i hate the Italians, they won't be eliminated by a stupid koala team!
They were lucky to go through tonight, at the expense of the weak Croats.
I give you 1 goal advantage as well...say if the Italians don't rape the Aussies by two goals and up, I lose the bet ;)

freddie
23-06-2006, 00:05
You're on. ;)

I like my odds. Even Napoleon said something about a lucky general being better than a terrific one... Hiddink beat Italy with South Korea in 2002. I bet Azzuri are gulping right now. :p

spyretto
23-06-2006, 00:16
Damn, your odds are way too good. I can see those spaghetti bolognese footballers winning by the odd goal and no more.
But now that you mentioned Hiddink beating Italy, and history repeating himself, well...I'm certain miracles only happen once.
So what do I win? :p

freddie
23-06-2006, 07:02
Bragging rights? But I wouldn't want to get overly concerned with that cause you'll lose in any case. Italians are PERFECT for an early screw-up. :p

spyretto
23-06-2006, 07:16
Bragging rights, I'll take it. I'll be in your face for the next MONTH if I win!
Will be like a cat with the tail up its ars...oh don't even mention it. I won't lose!

Italians are perfect for an early screw-up only when they're getting too confident, and their rubbish performances so far will ensure that they're more cautious than that.

freddie
23-06-2006, 12:03
I'm still convinced they have a mental blockage when it comes to mighty Guus. If Australians show the spirit they did against Croatia then they're defnitely in it. ;)
And there's been talk of a first WC title since 82 in Italian press so their egos are prefectly aligned atm. Not to mention the whole scandal with match fixing in Serie A. 8 players from the starting lineup will have to seek new employment if their clubs get relegated to lower leagues.

I see the future... and I think it's hoppin' my way. :D

our team sucked big time. tomas punching the ball 2 times with his fist, idiot. too bad aussie goalman didnt manage to score more goals for us. and viduka, playing for them as well as čulina pff they should have helped like the goalman.

beating them in '97 and this yesterday has nothing to do with australians improving, our team then cant be compared to these boys who cant run or play

More comedy in the last day of the first round as the french are playing again...and oh boy thay're struggling to score vs the "mighty" Togo.
Looks like they're in for a long evening...;)

ok, they made it as runners-up from the group. I'm just hoping Spain will put them out of their misery.

I bet on Germany to win the game, that's all. Didn't touch the live bets.
Not satisfied with the winnings though, I wanted more.
Next up: ARGENTINA SMASHES MEXICO.

Anouk

Easy?! That was one heck of a nice game.. This was so not an easy win for Argentina  Mexico deserved to draw with Argentina and then both have fair and equal chances at penalties..

From Fifa and the bookmakers who appoint them
anyways...at least a poor Argentina compensated us with perhaps the goal of the tournament in extra time.
So what do you think of Argentina v Germany?

Yeah, it's obvious RowerB is watching a different tournament

Eriksson is one shitty wimpy manager that's what i have to say...starting with a 4-5-1 system vs Ecuador...jeeez.

So far so good for England...they haven't conceded yet, LOL

Come on Ecuador. You’re showing this lot too much respect. Use the ball and you’ll take them to the cleaners.
