Yup, Madonna's new HIGHLY anticipated album leaked today! It's called 'Confessions on a Dancefloor' and comes out worldwide some time in November...
It's not bad... I don't like how in almost every song there is an element from another song!
Anyone got it?

its ok... most of it sounds the same and its not as danceable as she says it is.

I have almost all of the mp3s now... The album is ridiculously hypnotic and trance. I attempted to dance to a few songs and I fell into a trance and came to when the songs were done. LOL. My fave is Get Together, I love the beats, so sexy.

havent listened to her new album. i only heard that "hung up" today, and i may like it cos of the abba beats :coctail:
i'm not a fan of hers. i did like her '80s - early '90s songs though. i just don't like her switching to electronic music: "frozen" and so on. i'm sure a lot of people do, but i don't. i never liked that song or "ray of light" or the others. with 2 exceptions: "the power of goodbye" and "american pie". the rest were just :blabla:
but what are you gonna do? she gets off cos she's madonna :gigi:
Is the full album already on e mule ? I saw the clip for the first time yesterday on MTV ...at the beginning I was ....:rolleyes: about the clip and then softly it "caught " me ....YEs!:p
I like it cause it gives you some joy!! It's happy!...and indeed , today , in working I had this song in my head most of the time !

its a form of a music file ,all i know its available for winamp but not for win. media player

I think the MTV performace was absolutely spectacular. It's amazing to see her stage presence - it shows she's been the master of the stages for +20 years. However... I'm having second thoughts about this new album as a whole - Madonna's always been about originality and breaking new ground. For her to nick samples out of other songs it just negates what she stands for, IMO. I don't mind taking her the A Man After Midnight sample for Hung Up - I can even admit it's very appealing and tastefully done - but a whole album? Hmmm...

i've heard her first single off this album and for her first release for god knows how long..the song is repetitive and bland.
I don't really find it up to madonna's standards...that being said i haven't yet heard the rest of the album - maybe it gets better.

i can only guess...but i assume elsewhere people are just sheep who see madonna's name and go OMFG NEW ALBUM IT RAWKS and they all go out to buy it ;)
The album is pretty much a masterpiece...some people just can't get past a certain genre of music... the album is formatted as a DJ mix, but each song is very distinct... The samples are nothing like what other artists do, Madonna has succeeded in creating a slight feel of nostalgia within these electronic tracks. It's obvious that was the purpose because even some of the lyrics and the ways they are sung are throw backs to past songs of hers.
It's a lot better than her last album and I think the praise is well deserved.
Personally I think Madonna is at the stage where any music she makes is gonna be called a masterpiece. If it was done by any new artist it would flop. :bum:
I like "Hung Up" but I don't think it's anywhere near a masterpiece, and really the album does all sound the same. :bum:

Madonna's new single Hung Up is already #1 in the UK, France, and several other European countries (most probably #1 as well in the next German chart), there's no doubt that it will be the new #1 in the next EU chart.

i've given 'hung up' another few listens, and i have to say it's kind of blah. it doesn't bring anything new. it's just your regular pop-dance-cover thing. anyone could have sung it. i guess when you say 'madonna', you dont really say 'music'. she's never really established a style of her own. in the 80's she did nice up-beat disco-pop tunes. just like everybody else. in the 90's she did nice pop ballads. because everybody else was doing it. and at the end of the 90's, she switched to electronic. yes, cos everybody else was doing it. madonna is all about image, really. she just sings cos she has to do something. i've watched her live performances. except the moves she does (at which shakira is muuuuuuuuch better), she can't sing to save her life. she sounds like a man :bum:

If Confessions goes to number 1 in the United States, which it probably will, this will officially make Madonna the 2nd best selling solo artist in the history of music, right behind Elvis... outdoing Paul Mccartney, David Bowie and Michael Jackson... It's hard to believe that you can accomplish this by simply following...

i dunno.. to me musically speaking, she's been like a good surfer if you will. she watched the wave and jumped on it right on time for people to consider that it was HER wave, that she was the first one to ever ride it right. and that because she's always been so overrated, making everyone else seem like fleas. that's not a bad thing. but musically speaking, she hasn't got a style of her own, a trademark if you will (like u2, for example) and she hasn't brought anything new to the music scene. then again, i'm too tired to discuss this... madonna is madonna and she can do shit songs because she just can! and people will still buy it and think it's the greatest music ever.

Yep, as expected Hung Up also directly entered at #1 in Germany and Italy, it's not often that a single manages to reach #1 the same week in the UK, France, Germany and Italy… Massive sales.
I kind of agree about the her being a "follower", but come to think of it... everyone so far followed someone. People who started a trend always generaly tended to be a bit uncharismatic and then someone else took that trend to new heights. Rock N Roll had it's fair share of neglected heros like Bill Hayley and Carl Perkins (up to an extent even Roy Orbison). It took someone with a great charisma to propel it up the charts and make it an iconic household name. Elvis was just the man for the job. He didn't "invent" anything. He just merged charisma with an existing art-form.
That's basically what Madonna does, with a difference that she made that same thing with different genres. When she first came on the sceene she was considered as nothing more than a cheap Cyndi Lauper clone. Girl-power synth pop tunes were hardly the last word in originality even back then. But she added something extra to propel her to stardom. She became way more popular than Cyndi, eventually turning into a pop icon in the process (that MTV performance where she sang Like A Virgin in a wedding dress IMO cemented her status as an ultimate MTV icon). And she did it many times later, which is the really impressive thing. She didn't invent electronica, let after Ray Of Light it went huge. She didn't invent House music, yet house DJs all over the world are crediting her for making it a household name with "Vogue". So in reality she's doing nothing what Elvis didn't do decades ago - merging charisma with existing art-forms. It's the thing that makes people go "oh hell... they aren't all that special". But they are.

In the swedish Tv , the December 29th 2005, there was a report about Madonna. It was a kind of little movie (about one hour I think) in the style of "In Bed with Madonna".
We've recorded it into a vidro tape, but no time yet to watch it.
It was alot in black and white. May be you can find it in e mule? It seemed very interesting.

Wow...wicked expensive...see now I'm not worried about going...I'd only fork over that much cash for t.A.T.u. which is sad but true. Just to throw the ebay thing into the conversation, me and my friend bought tickets for a Rob Zombie concert the other week off of ebay and the tickets that cost $40 at the door or $30 from a ticket place...on ebay two tickets cost around $150. The concert sold out within one hour of tickets going on sale.

the tickets for horsens, denmark seem to be around £70.. not too bad really, but considering it's outdoors (and it's always raining here) i think they should be cheaper - am i the only one who reckons old mo is getting greedy these past few years? i saw her in earl's court, london in both 2001 and 2004 and if i remember correctly the tickets were like £75 each.
but oh well, still gonna try and get tickets when the start sales on the 22nd ;) she's too much fun to miss, not to mention it's the first time she ever dragged her arse to wee ole baconland :D

I agree with Anouk though, I was really looking forward to seeing Madonna but how many hardcore Madonna fans my age can afford that much for tickets, I think she should have taken notice that she has fans who don't have as much money as she does. I mean it would already cost me a lot to travel to one of her concerts..

Artists who do extensive dancing like Madonna or Britney Spears always get criticism for playback...but I'd rather have a little playback rather then see them pass out on stage because they can't sing and dance at the same time.
For info, at Paris , in June 2006, places for Robbie Williams in 2nd category are sold for 150 euros...so Madonna doesn't seem to get the priviledge of high prices.

dunno if it's the case for montreal, but in denmark all tickets were the same price (715 dkr) because her madgesty wanted no fans having to pay more than others. shit idea if u ask me cos now not only did we queue for tickets but now people have to queue outside the stadium as well cos all tickets are for unnumbered seats so it's a matter of who gets there first. bah!! i'd have gladly paid more to have numbered seats or even just a fucking row that i could call mine.
oh well, i'm sure they'll have som big ass screens i can look at while i'm getting pissed in the back cos i have to work and won't be able to camp outside for days.

Rumours about Madonna's Confessions Tour visiting for the first time Russia and the Czech Republic started earlier this year with a report by Victoria Newton on Uk tabloid The Sun first mentioned chances for the tour to stop in Prague and Moscow.
Last March, here at Tribe we reported that there were great chances that those two countries were indeed going to be included in the Tour schedule at the end of the European leg in September 2006.
From what we learnt since then, Prague and Moscow were indeed confirmed and kept on hold for a major media announcement to take place close to the tour's opening night, boosting the media attention of Madonna's new show as this will be the first time for her to visit these two countries.
If you are familiar with Madonna Tribe's Tour Forum you already know the latest updates that fellow Tribers have been discussing since the past week.
Apparently the dates set for Prague are those of September 6 and 7. Following the layout of the European leg of the tour, that alternates stadium and arena shows with the sole exception of Germany - the Czech venue should be the awesome Sazka Arena.
But the most exciting news is that the location of the first Madonna concert ever in Russia will be no other that Moscow's Red Square - which is considered - needless to say - the top location of the entire tour.
All we need now, as usual, is the official announcement from Madonna's camp for the final dates of the Confessions Tour to be revealed.

Madonna readies for first-ever Russia concerts
US pop queen Madonna will perform in Russia for the first time on September 11 and 12 as part of her Confessions world tour, a Russian organiser said.
Madonna's two concerts will take place on a specially constructed stage on the Sparrow Hills overlooking the city centre, close to where Moscow State University is located, ITAR-TASS news agency reported.
"Decorations and costumes for the singer will arrive in Russia on 27 trailers," the organiser was quoted by ITAR-TASS as saying.

omg, went to the madonna gig in denmark last night... what a complete and utter waste of time. nothing positive to say about it except the weather was nice - it was an outdoors venue - and for the first time i left a madonna concert before it finished... gutted, what can i say :bum:

just about everything.. to no fault of madonna though - it's not her fault i think the confessions album sucks so she can't be blamed for the music, she did what she was there to do.. but basically the whole thing was just completely unstructured and badly planned from the parking areas to the actual event.
interesting fact: 600 porta-loos isn't enough for 85000 people..
interesting thought: never arrange an event for 85000 people in a city of 50000 residents.
anyway a bit about the show. after waiting in queues for 5 hours outside gates finally opened
we were well chuffed that we were able to push our way all the way up to around 30-40 yards from the centre of the stage, and stood waiting for 2 hours before paul okenfold came on. then madonna finally came on at around 9:30 (half hour late as expected) but unfortunately the stage was so low down that we couldn't see anything at all, not even the equally low big screens.. even after live to tell when we went further back it was bad, cos although we could now see at least the screens, by then the sound was bad cos there were only speakers up by the stage.
so we thought "fuck it" and decided to leave during music/disco inferno medley. i was surprised to see we weren't the only ones - shitloads of people left along with us. and we were well pissed off when we realised we had a better view from the street outside. so we stood there for erotica/u thrill me and lucky star before walking all the way downtown to the shuttle buses to take us to our parking area thinking we could at least beat the traffic.
we got on one and specifically asked the driver if it was the right bus - but alas it wasn't. then he agreed to let us ride back with him which was cool. only he wasn't from there and had no idea how to get back to the shuttle stop so what should've taken 10 mins ended up taking an hour. we then got stuck in traffic before the shuttle stop and decided to leave the sodding bus and then went in the one right behind us. thank fuck we got on when we did cos there were 35000 people wating at the stop to get on a bus. we finally got to our car and then were stuck in traffic for another 3 hours...
i know for sure i'll be going to london next time as we have the other times i've seen her cos at least they have a clue what they're doing.

Just came back from the gig. It was awesome. On the way home I managed to steal a super huge Madonna poster. The show is very high-teched and incredible. I loved it. We didn't care a lot about the pics but took a couple of random ones with a compact camera.

I wasn't so far from her hehehe my sis told me we were 10-15m away from her
I tried to bring my cam in my pants, but it was too obvious (like a dildo which could make pics and videos lol) so I decided to leave it in the car
but we took some pics with my sis's cell
she'll send them to me tomorrow or later :p
btw, I don't know if the other gigs were the same but we had Dimitri from Paris for beginning (his set was a total crap lol) and on New-York ... guess who's appear from nowhere?
