We all go to the movies from time to time, and occassionally, see something memorable.

Looking back at the favorites of 2002, we get:

1. Spider-Man
2. Star Wars Episode II
3. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
4. 8 Mile
5. Austin Powers 3

What is your favorite movie of the year?! Why?

Lord of the Rings II: The Two Towers.

A million times better than the first kickass movie. Seriously good acting, amazing battle scenes, and more special effects than they could cram into 2.5 hours of quality cinema.

It gets my vote.

I'm gonna see Two Towers at 8 tonight but so far the best movie of the year for me has been Bowling for Columbine (http://www.bowlingforcolumbine.com)

Guys, please, write a reason. We want to know why you think that the movie you have written down is the movie of the year!

Because LOTR is homegrown, lol! No, it's epic, you can't deny an epic.

On a forum where our avatar are chaacters from final fantasy it's not difficult to know what may be the interrest of each one.
It wouldn't be harry potter, because there are of teen public on the forum, but it's lotr because ff fans are in the most time fans of all heroic fantaisy.
But you will say that in a tatu's forum there isn't only ff fans ! That's right, but the ones who will be most seduced by this site are the ff fans.

I liked "Monsters ball" a lot.
Very REAL, as if you look at life itself, not a movie.

This year I' ve also seen "Show me love" for the first time.

Umm, they both had action and were sci-fi flicks, but none of the movies THIS year were very good...

All right, I doubt that any of you have (or will) see bowling for columbine, but I like it so much because it says things that most people are too afraid to say. It says things that most people don't know and don't want to admit. Synista, I think you'd like this movie.

And it's really funny to boot :D

I haven't seen Donnie Darko, but I've been meaning to. And, trust me, you have to want to see Bowling for columbine to see it lol it's a small film, only playing in maybe 150 theaters total in the US. Check out the website I posted earlier. You would have remembered this movie.

Newbie here!

Monster's Ball and Donnie Darko are quite honourable mentions. But I saw them to early in the year to remember if they belonged to the year 2002 or 2001.

I really like Spirited Away, that was probably my favourite for 2002. (Even though it was made two years ago in Japan).
As well as The Monsoon Wedding, Barber Shop, and Y Tu Mama Tambien (sp?).

Bowling was also good, but being from Canada I must warn you, we do in fact lock our doors. Heh. But seriously Canada isn't all that safe, I didn't think the portrayal was accurate. I don't believe a lot of the things mentioned in the documentary as well, but I got the message pretty clear though.
That South Park segment was my favourite part in the movie.

That movie is a bit weird, but sure it's great to see. I know it's a bit full of religious (Donnie stands for Jesus), but sure it's great.

Next movie I REALLY wanna see is The Ring and that Frida Khalo one. and Silent Hill, if they still wanna make it.

Well hard to narrow it down to one.
I'll make a top 5 or something like that::D

1: Road To Perdition - Superb acting from all sides. A bit suprised that only Paul Newman is nominated for an Oscar.

2: The Two Towers - Loved the first one a bit more, but still it's a really, really good movie.

3: Minority Report - Colin Farrell... need I say more:lalala:

4: Star Wars II - way better than Episode I. It'll be hard to wait for ep. III

5: Signs - M. Night Shyamalan is a genius.

Could go on for ages.. :hmmm: I'll better keep it at 5. Though Spiderman, Spirit and Lilo and Stich also were among my faves.

I think Amelie might have been originally released in 2001, but that's easily one of the best films I've seen.

I mean that was just PERFECT. It had everything: action, adventure, drama, romance, and comedy. It was the best movie. Those LONG action sequences were absolutely breathtaking. It left me on the edge of my seat the whole time. R2-D2 and C3-PO were as hilarious as always. The drama and romance between Anakin and Senator Amidala, I mean wow. This movie really moved me on all aspects. I really loved this it, I saw it in the theatres twice. Since buying the dvd I've seen it three more times.

On a side note I think the best movie of 2003 will end up being A Man Apart. Looks like it's going to be awesome.

I think Assault on Precinct 13 is a good movie made in 2005
