*copes and pastes from 2004 resolution thread*

my 2004 resolution:

hmm...well i hope i did it...and i think i kidna did...tho the stuff i do to be good just ends up back-fawking-firing in my face and i feel horrible about everything ANYWAY

i ended up reaching the goals i set out for myself and am in the position where im buying a house and all that crap...but its all so hollow...so this year i resolve to:

NOT GIVE A FLYING COPULATION ABOUT ANYTHING...maybe i'll succeed...who knows :gigi:

Well, last year I said
my New Years Resolutions are:

* get out more and try to meet new people
* drink less (or, at least, don't drink alone so much)
* be a bit more self-confident
* try and act my age for once in my life
* take a bit more pride in my appearance (simply running some gel through my hair doesn't count!)

And finally - the most important resolution of all - GET A GIRLFRIEND!!!!! If I don't manage to do this by the end of the year I may as well give up all hope!

I didn't exactly fulfill all of those ideals.
I have been getting out more. I've been to 7 gigs this year. And for a while back in the Spring/Summer I was out in town every Saturday night.
I failed the "drink less" test, that's for sure.
I'm not doing any better in the "self-confidence" department either.
The same goes for "acting my age".
I have been taking more pride in my appearance.
Not that it matters cos, for yet another year, I've remained completely and utterly alone. Jane provided me a small respite from my perpetual misery but it didn't last long.

k then.. new year new start, yeah? :heh:

*went to copy/paste*
Resolutions for 2005:
* to go party a whole lot more
* to make sure family and friends know where I go party and why
* hopefully succed with getting some kind of job

So there we go.. I can get the second one done really soon, if only I really want to

For now...

x Leaving my dad
x Moving out (with my mom & brother)
x Sort out my goddamn 'relationship'
x Make new friends
x Get myself a digital camera (!)
x Do something radical
x Get more money (that's gonna be easy  )

x CHANGE MY LIFE :D

Lemme just say, I don't believe in resolutions, they're just something that keeps us alive, "hope". But it's entertaining at least.

Hmmm...

1) Be nice to people and not say they are boring. (Must never forget!)
2) Lose weight. (10 points for originality)
3) Finish paying off my credit card debt.
4) Start smoking.
5) Visit a few friends I haven't seen in a few years just to say hi and promptly return home.\
6) Continue with my foreign language studies of Japanese and German. Maybe, even learn proper Spanish and do away with the crap I speak now.
7) Start getting myself to bed at a decent hour.
8) Fly a kite.

I wrote those as they came to mind, pay no attention to the oder they are in.

You want to start smoking? Most people try to give up for New Years.
The kite thing is confusing me too.

I have been taking more pride in my appearance.
Not that it matters cos, for yet another year, I've remained completely and utterly alone. Jane provided me a small respite from my perpetual misery but it didn't last long.

who are you dressing for ? you or the rest of the world ? [think about this]

you should be doing what you do, for you. taking pride in your appearance can boost self confidence and self confidence is very attractive -- if youre trying to bag someone.

but self confidence is a great thing to do for yourself as well, it can lead to greater self happiness and inner contentedness.

now im going to stop sounding like a self help book.

i do think you should be making changes FOR YOU and not for other people. if you feel something youre doing in your life is no longer working for you, or doesnt feel right, or just shouldnt be there anymore, then change for you.

This was last year:

No resolutions really. In 2004 I'll be just the same as in 2003. And I'll be the same in 2005 as well!

Oh one resolution possibly! ... I want to visit the new continent and see for myself if it really smells of money there!

Well I was right. 2004 was just the same as 2003, except more extreme in the good and especially the bed. I did see the new continent though. It doesn't smell of money though. More like smog and french fries. :p

This is what I wrote this year in that thread that got closed:

My new years resolution is to finally get a law degree, and to start making some money so I can move to Canada.

But first... I just want to get rid of this damn sadness.

At least I have some goals now. But I must admit. Last year, around this time, I was feeling way less crappy then this year.

marry me ;)
Pffff, you deserve someone better... someone yellow, or, or... olive complected. :D

Hey Freddie, whereabout in Canada? Cause i can make a few recommendations, some really nice areas too
East Coast more then likely. Somewhere where they speak one of those latin-based langauges. LOL

4) Start smoking.
That's a nice resolution! :D

:spy:

Oh I also came up with some more...

x Get higher grades... and I REALLY must do this. I failed some subjects this year, and I was close in failing all of the rest. I've been trying so hard, but I had such a bad time - I really hope next year is better.

x Lose weight, or at least get fit.
OH GOD, I do sound like the teenage girl that I am. :none:

x Lose weight, or at least get fit.lose weight? you? :spy:
I'm considering getting fit aswell though. Either that or gain weight, but getting fit sounds easier, since I'm in the group stuggeling to gain weight

EeZeReal
20-12-2004, 17:06
- Put on some weight
- Get out more
- Get a record deal...in some way, shape or form (Doubt it, but s'worth a try  )

:gigi:

QueenBee
20-12-2004, 17:12
lose weight? you?
Yeah.. Or at least the get fit part... 'cause I've got fat in the wrong places. But since muscle weighs more than fat, then I could maybe gain some weight or something and yet look better in my eyes.

- Get a record deal...in some way, shape or form
I just got a new resolution.

x Marry Phil when he gets a reco... I mean, marry him because I love him.

:gigi:

coolasfcuk
20-12-2004, 17:23
Yeah, I have one:

-to NOT cut my nails or any hair on my body for the whole year :rev:

coolasfcuk
20-12-2004, 17:28
coolasfcuk, not even shave your armpits?
:bebebe: I dont shave my armpits now , either! Shaving is BAD , bad.. BAD. Please, consider other forms of hair removal :D

...but yeah, absolutelly NO hair removal, oh, and to stop using lotion either! I wanna have lizzard skin

EeZeReal
20-12-2004, 17:28
Phrases like that almost make me want to lose all faith in female kind :p

Not that I'd mind...If I had the money, I'd know how to treat moi girlie ;)

QueenBee
20-12-2004, 17:38
coolasfcuk, oookay @ the lizard skin. :none: That's... strange! But whatever floats your boat. :p I used to wax my legs, but then I ran out of wax and were going to wear short pants so.... even though nobody really cares about my hairy legs. :blabla: I shave my armpits though (why am I still talking about body hair?).

EeZeReal, but only if you had the money, right? :p

Oh and in 2005, I'm doing what Mossopp did this year, take more pride in my appearance... God, it's like I'm becoming obsessed! First losing weight, now this. :spy: But it's kind of the only thing you have real control over...

EeZeReal
20-12-2004, 17:57
Well I mean, you can marry me for my money if I had the money :p

I know how to treat my girlie right... money or no money ;) :gigi:

I think I need to take more pride in my appearence, my hair is horrible =/

you should be doing what you do, for you. taking pride in your appearance can boost self confidence and self confidence is very attractive -- if youre trying to bag someone.
It would also help if the "someone" I'm trying to "bag" wasn't as straight as an arrow!
Maybe that should be my new year resolution - stop falling for straight girls.

20-12-2004, 23:42

 that's ... HOT!

Actually, Ill tell you a secret: I have nail 'allergy' .. I cannot stand long nails, have to cut mine all the time otherwise i cant touch things, it drives me insane! So usually its the other way around, me complaining about sasha's nails :gigi: .. but i have decided, I like them long (well, somewhat long - lets say medium size), so here is a resolution for ya: not to complain about nails! that's HOT!

spyretto
20-12-2004, 23:46
ok, my new year's resolution is I make 3k in the first 3 months from fixed matches, and then we see..hope I make it, coz I need a more comfy living and not to worry about money issues. ..

I cannot stand long nails, have to cut mine all the time otherwise i cant touch things, it drives me insane! it's not even a secret since you told me before. Which is why I found it even more funny that you posted not cutting them.. but with you trying to make sasha do the cleanings and such, I can imagine her being forced to cut your nails aswell

You want to start smoking? Most people try to give up for New Years.
The kite thing is confusing me too.

Well, I haven't done either since I was 7 years old I think. Flying a kite again would be interesting, I remember it being a ridiculously awesome experience. As for smoking, just thought it would be nice to have 2 reasons for carrying a lighter. Ususally, I just carry it around for when a young lady would happen to need it.

That's a pretty good idea, I must say. Does that work? I mean, does it actually get you anywhere with the ladies? :spy:
Maybe I should try that....

My New Years Resolution is to work out with my friend Heather, so that she feel, "Hot!"
And to stop smoking... but I think the first one is more likely to happen

Well, it's really a good ice breaker. That is, until they ask if you smoke and you reply, no. After that, really depends on how they perceive the situation. Um, yeah. New Years Resolutions for 2005.

Not to eat drugs.

I can fill my lungs with toxins if it's for a good cause. Hell, I hadn't smoked in years untill I met Jane. I'm blaming her for my relapse. :smoke:

I've decided on 2 resolutions so far -

1. Stop biting my fingernails.
I miss being able to paint my nails black. I've always thought that looked cool (although IMO it does look better on guys than girls) but I can't do it anymore because my nails are all scabby and chewed. The thumbnail on my right hand is only 3mm long!
2. Go to as many gigs as humanly possible.
Having my flat in Glasgow has allowed me to go to almost 10 gigs in the last year or so. And it's struck me that the only time this year when I've actually been able to let go of all the shit and live for the moment has been when I'm out watching a band. Thusly, I have decided that the best course of action is to go to as many gigs as I can and have as much fun as I can in the process, even if it makes me terribly ill (*cough*Atreyu*cough* - it was a chest infection, I swear!! ;) )

If I think of anything else to add to the above extensive list between now and the 31st I'll be sure to mention it. Anyone got any suggestions? (Anyone who says "quit drinking" will get a well-aimed slap!)

teeny
26-12-2004, 15:19
Anyone got any suggestions?get a webcam or visit someone that has a digicam.. buy a cellphone with a camera, or something in that area :lalala: :kwink:
Wait here's one "go to a gay club"

Mossopp
29-12-2004, 01:55
OK, I've got a couple more things to add to my 'Resolutions' list.....

3. Tell Sarah I'm gay.
This woman considers me to be her best friend and yet I continue to lie to her on a daily basis. I know she's not a homophobe and I know she won't disown me so why can't I just tell her? She'll be hurt at first but it won't be the end of the world - we'll sort it out. I'm sick of being myself around people I barely even know but having to act like someone I'm not around a friend. It's deceitful and wrong and it has to stop!

4. Ask Molly out on a date.
OK, I'm still working on this one. There's a 99.99999999998% chance she'll simply shoot me down in flames and completely humilate me but I have to give it a shot anyway. I can't stop thinking about her and it's driving me crazy.
I know she's a lot younger than me, I know she has a life of her own that I'm not a part of, I know she's young and gorgeous and therefor completely out of my league.........but what do I have to lose? I mean, what's the worse case scenario? She laughs in my face, calls me a pervert and throws mud at me every time she sees me? I can live with that.
I can't live with the constant thought of "what if.....?" echoing in my head every time I think of her. Even if I'm shot down, at least I'll know I tried.

QueenBee

I'm on a go...

x Get myself a digital camera (!)
Already completed. :D And it's not even 2005 yet!

I can't live with the constant thought of "what if.....?" echoing in my head every time I think of her. Even if I'm shot down, at least I'll know I tried.I think the "what if" can be your best friend and your worst enemy.. once you lose it you may wish to have it back again :lalala: At least if the outcome is bad. Then again there is no point in having it in your head constantly if there is no chance whatsoever..
Either way: hope the two additions will work out for the best, mossopp :rose:

Another resolution: Seeing things from a positive view. I don't need to act like they're okay, just IMAGINE something positive about them, then go back to dwelling on how miserable I am.
