Maybe it is because of their anal response towards the emergence of the mp3 back in '99 (I think).

Like fine, advocate the dismantling of Napster and any other host site of mp3s, but don't sue 300,000 of your fans you b@st@rds. That was so unnecessary.

I remember the stance Metallica took against MP3, Napster and their fans 4 years ago. I remember it well. "...the artists fell much pride in their work and have a right to protect it..." that were the shalow empty words then... Lars came across as a real greedy asshole... but remember Dexter Holland for Offspring who came on stage with the "Napster" T-Shirt? Priceless :D ... Sign of the times.
