So Utada is back! And guess where she is focusing? The UNITED STATES! Her NEW Second Album "This is The One" will be being released March 24th Digitaly on the internet, and then released Physically in the states in May. The first single was already released, and you might have heard it on the radio, its titled "Come Back to Me". The new album is focused more for an american audience, so it's heavily influenced by R&B, and is more Mainstream. This new album is a MASTERPIECE I think and am gonna love when it comes out!

I quite like her! Though I don't know that much of her songs, but I've had an interest in her since about 2002. I don't know much about her English songs though. (I never even hear her songs on the radio, not that I pay much attention to it.) Judging from the samples, it seems like they blended oriental melodies with the American influences. Which I think is a pretty interesting mix, but I'm not big on R&B. :p

Her "You're easy breezy and I'm Japanesey" lyrics from a couple of songs ago were pretty lulzy though. :|

Lol, agreed. They've already leaked snippets of each of the songs on utada.jp. Once I got my hands on a torrent, I'll upload it here ASAP. Also, once her CD comes out in the U.S, I'm definetly getting it lol. I love FYI, On and On, This One, Come Back To Me, Dirty Desire, Taking My Money Back, hell, I love all of her new songs.

OMG!!! Utada Hikaru is amazing! I soooo glad she's coming to the states, she's my favorite Japanese artist. I hope she makes the theme song for Kingdom Hearts 3 when it comes out.

Haha. My professor loves her. He's american, but has studied and worked as professor in Japan and teach in classes on east asian and japanese culture and politics, so he's played some japanese pop music in the breaks. Utada Hikaru has been played several times, especially the song "This Is Love" :D

It's not bad though! Cool stuff. I was supposed to look her up but forgot. Thanks for reminding me! :)

Exodus has, its not really to the taste of "This is the One" though. It sounds experimental,
I like it however.
She also had a first ever CD called "Precious" under the name "Cubic U", but its hard to come by.

I love Hikki. I'v been listening to her a lot longer then I have t.A.T.u. Though I dont like the R&B english albums. I love her J-pop though! :D

Utada's been doing tons of promotion for this album. She was on the Ryan Secrets radio show and she played Goodbye Mr. Lawrence on the ending of some morning tv news thing. I'm uberly excited for her. Has anyone heard the album yet? I believe it's out in Japan already.

:] Sweet. I haven't found it yet but I heard a lot of fans were disappointing by it. Some said none of the songs were memorable. I'm sure most of them are pretty good :\ I mean Utada usually isn't dumb with her writing or music.

Utada sadly has bombed the album. She recently has came down with a sickness and had to cancel her promotion for the album, and said that the promo would be rescheduled, that was on the 12th of May. Whats the date now? It's very sad. I don't know what she is going to do, she needs to release another single and QUICK!
