Hey there folks,

it's been a while since i've done any Tatu related artwork and this is probably the most different thing i've ever done.

The story, i was in Printmaking class, it was a work day and i was listening to my entire catalog of mp3s on my mp3 player completely randomely and "Obezyanka-Nol" came on. I have a strange bit of affection for the song and as it played i drew a little monkey trapped in a cage in a vaguely "Gorillaz" style. And as the day went on i completely ignored doing any printmaking and the drawing has grown considerably... here's a final sketch, i might color it and do some more stuff to it.

I love it Greg! I wish I had your talent. I like the way it is now because it's a really dark atmosphere, but I suppose you can try to see what it would look like in color. :D

thanks guys... if i did anything i'd try to make it resemble the color scheme of the All the Things She Said Remixes LP... and hell, maybe even make it look like a record with cracked edges... mmm

In my boredom, i've decided to color it... the color is... strange, to say the least. It's a bit more 'cool (colorwise)' than i expected... but my i tried to make it as spontaneous as i could... so, that's that.
I've also titled it

Thanks you guys... if i ever get the inspiration i'll do another... i just don't know any other songs with such a strong allegory... hehe

BTW, i'm currently doing a different "FINE ART" version of this using intaglio etching, aquatint, a la poupee and screenprinting and i'll be making at least 15 of them. I think i'll sell them to add them to my resume as sold pieces... they'd only be around 15/20 dollars depending on the paper and inks i use. Anyone think they might be interested in buying some "Gurgi" originals?
