Hey!I didn't see any topic talking about evanescence's new album...so i thought I could give you some infos about it in case someone is interested and doesn't know anything about it....
The new album will be released the 3d of October world wide and the first single will be "Call Me When You're sober." and it will be aired in radios From August!

Wow - it sounds awesome! And i'm not normally a fan of Mozart. Can't wait for the release, I know of some others that can't aswell!

obviously a promo cd was leaked. anyway, i dont like this song as much as their previous singles, but it's very different - bluesey.

I like it without ben moody, he was not the brains, they always took turns writing songs and I never cared for the songs he wrote so he's absence doesn't affect me.

But I like them, cause they brought this style to the mainstream and to America...so lets see if they're gonna shake off the reputation of the one hit wonder with this album...though I wouldn't bet on it.

After all, Evanesence is the most rocking thing lately featured in this forum as people like to drool over Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado and the other... ahem... acts of... mainstream r'n b... bs...so Evamescence are not half as bad...though some ppl like them because Amy Lee is supposedly "hot" (so it's not about the music but about that sortie Amy Lee)

But what can you do...it's still ok

I can't say much about Paradise Lost, but I don't see the similarity between them and Lacuna Coil (:heart: ) that everyone is always talking about, or in fact many other goth metal bands. I quite like their style, but I wouldn't compare them to many goth metal bands. I hope that they do well with this album, but other than their fans and some metal fans I think most people have lost interest in them.

I don't understand how Evanescence could possibly be ripping of Lacuna Coil's style, considering I don't think they are anything alike. And as a afterthought Evanescence was formed two years before Lacuna Coil. So unless Amy and Ben travelled to the future and decided to copy them in a really bad way your theory seems quite...wrong spyretto

I've been fan of Evanescence since i first heard Bring me to life, but to be honest I also wanna see wut happens when The open door is released. I'll buy the album whether it's worth it or not because it'll always be worth it for me, but they've been away for a long time and for me Call me when you're sober doesn't sound like Evanescence. :bum:

I've listened to the whole album a few times now, and none of the tracks seem particularly memorable, with the exception of Lithium, which I love :heart: I'll listen to it a few more times before I make up my mind completely, but I don't think it's as good as their previous album.

I kinda dont understand Lithium, does lithium mean something else but the metal? I know its a drug usually prescribed for schizophrenic people, but anyway wut does it have to do with the song? (I'm kinda stupid sometimes, I know)

I think that Lithium does reffer to the drug. I believe that shes talking about a depression that has gone so deep that now Lithium is the only thing that can keep her from her depressed self. But Lithium is an very addictive drug and has many secondary effects so choosing lithium is like choosing the less of to evils. And during the song you can see (and feel) her dilema about going off the drug or starying on it... I love evanescence :p

And ure not stupid. Amys writting sometimes can be confusing...
BTW Im from Venezuela, so I can also help u with your Spanish if u want, just ask ;)

Evanescence guitarist John LeCompt said Friday he's been fired from the band, and he also said drummer Rocky Gray has quit, so things aren't looking good for the multi-platinum, two-time Grammy winning alternative rock act, one of the biggest bands in the world -- but apparantly shrinking by the second.

"I'm done, and I'm pretty upset about it," LeCompt said, calling from Little Rock, Ark., the band's home town. "(Singer) Amy Lee called and fired me today. There's absolutely no loyalty in this band."

Evanescence, touring in support of its second major release "The Open Door," is on a short break after returning from South Africa. The group has two dates scheduled later this month before plans to tour Europe, beginning in Paris on May 25.

A phone message to the press office at Wind-Up Records in New York seeking comment was not immediately returned.

LeCompt, 34, said he and Gray, 32, plan to pour all their energy into a new band, Machina, managed by Chris Long (Crossfade). Gray wasn't available for comment.

"Machina is an incredible band -- it's rock and roll," LeCompt said.

Evanescence's first major release, "Fallen," featuring the hits "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal," has sold 14 millions copies worldwide, 6.6 million in the United States. It's one of eight albums in Billboard history to spend at least one year in the top 50. In 2004, the band won Grammys for Best Hard Rock Performance and Best New Artist.

The followup, "Open Door," was released in October, selling nearly 500,000 copies in the United States in its first week and debuting at No. 1 on Billboard. It's sold about four million worldwide.

This is not the first time Evanescence has had personnel problems. In 2003, guitarist and co-founder Ben Moody quit while the band was touring in Europe, replaced by Terry Balasamo from Cold. Last July, bassist Will Boyd quit, replaced by Tim McCord from Revolution Smile.

Hey everyone,

I've been getting your messages all morning and figured I would give a little personal insight to this situation. Around 3:30 pm yesterday I recieved a call on my cell from Amy. This call wasn't from a friend who appreciated me but from an enemy who was prepared to hurt me and my family. Without any warning or negotiotiations for my future, I was fired for no good reason. We have not always seen eye to eye on everything, but who does? Our common goal was always the same. To make Evanescence the best rock band it could ever be. I have always given blood, sweat and tears to make that happen but apparently that is not enough. I have now become just another of the people fallen by the wayside on the revolving door of her life. It's funny how many of us there are now. I guess it's good for lyrical content, though. Maybe I will be among the blessed to have a song written about me, too. Maybe the song will be "Call Me When You're Broke". Whatever, as of next week my band Machina will be doing major label showcases in New York. There is a big buzz for it and we hope it will go well. I'm not going to sit here and be negative because that is not who I am. What I will say it that I know that many of you think she is some genuis or saviour of some kind. I just want you to know that my family and I will forever remember her as being about as deep as the shallow end of a child's wading pool and her lyrics about as deep as the 2 dimensional surface that they were written on. Singing beautifully for the duration of a record or two can move the spirit of the people listening, but the way you treat those around you who you are supposed to care about speaks volumes more than that and I would hope that some of you are listening. Well, that's it. I hope that sheds some light on the current situation for you. Thank you all for the good years and being the most incredible fans and friends. Maybe I will see you again. I am going to play with my little boy now, peace.

don't know if I post this in the right thread. as you may know evenescence performed for the 3th time on the rock am ring festival on friday!
today two parts were showed in the www...hope the show went longer as 1h.
I could only ripped the audio from the concert and here are the downloads:

if you want to watch the show on TV you've to watch WDR on the 15th to 16th june (midnight until 6.30 am) and the same game from the 16th to the 17th june!
they'll show all highlights..so I can't say when the concert will be shown.
evanescence performed in the night from friday to saturday at 2am!
