im starting this thread to find out what the majority of our members and visitors think of expression of extremism and al that comes with it , like symbols and promoting of such organisations after all, all i expect to find here are people with respect for each other no matter who you are or where you come from and who love music like tatu's

i want to find out how to deal with people who for example would like to use the swastika as an avatar for ive encountered some one here who want one,
when he was told that it was not realy appropriate for this forum and also why it was not he declared that it was his way of living, so in a way promoting it.
Ok.... So the swastika thing... I don't support it... There are plenty of other avatars and we don't need to start a controversy over some stupid thing....

well, what way was the swastika facing? i know that the reversed of the "Nazi" swastika is the Hindi symbol for hope and there is nothing wrong that...
things which are known to be offensive [racism, homophobia etc] and things which are said and meant to be offensive [personal verbal attacks, snide comments etc] - i believe these should be curtailed. after all we are here to talk about all things tatu and to engage in friendly conversation. if people on the forum disagree with each other, theres still no reason to be rude or disrespectful. after all, there is always a civil way of stating your disagreement with someones opinion without resorting to rudeness.
if you dont have something good to say, then its better not to say anything.

unfortunately not. all we can do is ask people to respect each other, or at the very least, not to get rude or personal. after that its up to the moderators to either bar them from the forum or something like that

By the way- I personaly am very open minded person and respect every opinion as long as it doesn't hurt other people.
If someone wants to defend nazism or whatever I can discuss it with you, but if all they are trying to do is to promote hatred and attack innocent people- then we have nothing to talk about.
Problem is not with swastika- problem is with what it represents.
That's not even the problem... it's not what it represents, it's what it's reputation behind it is...
But I agree with you in the fact that we can discuss things with open-minds, if they are appropriate...

mir, I understand your purpose of asking, but thinking that "we" should allow or disallow something... Is it some sort of a virtual democracy? The admin and mods are the ones to allow or not. And I know they don't allow mentioning some (in my opinion) harmless things, which does not go along with my view of free information exchange on a forum. So sorry, you can vote, and they might listen to you, but it will be ultimately they not you who decides :)

What is offensive? If somebody would say Putin is great man would that be offensive? Say that to a Chechen and he'll most likely beat you. Say that to somebody else and they might agree.
I think people on this forum are mature enough not to let their political views get better of them and this forum woun't turn into mud slinging contest. If you see a topic that offends you (e.g. something with title "I would like to do 3some with L&Y") just ignore it. It's most likely troll operation and if you don't feed the trolls they die off.
But OTOH I think it's good to set some rules, otherwise forums go down the drain, like official is going faster and faster.

luxxi, IMHO, the off foum is not worse than this, it's all relative as you said, isn't it? And it has rules too, btw, but nobody cares. actually there's less extremism than here for that matter, maybe because people there take themselves less seriously than people here do.

You serious? Just look at topics people post (not constant are they/aren't) they but like: "abortion", ROCKETS", "gay o metre". What do these things have to do with t.A.T.u.? Nobody of the people connected to tatu posts on the off forum. So it's the same internet blah-blah of fans, haters etc of the group as this one and does not say anything about the group itself :)
All the arguments against the off forum never led to anything and were not very pleasent to the ones who started them. But I find them pretty entertaining, ask Igor :)

Still, I judge people by what they do, not by what they look like. I think it more "efficient" ;) "blood" does not say much, bravest parents have covardy children and vise versa.

I see your point... well, I grew up in SA, so I see it as my country, just like you consider yourself Canadian, even though your parents are Veitnamese. My reason for hating the blacks and the coloureds are numerous - they're destroying our economy, our infrastructure, our currency, even our f***ing LIVES! When they were fighting against the old regime, the world saw them as freedom fighters against the evil, white regime. Now that they're busy f***ing up our country, people gte angry and decide to take (careless) action. What happens? Here in States... I saw schools with enrolment forms stating:
race: 1) african american 2) other... with the objective to enroll 50% of the 1st. Huh? Who's separating whom from whom?

White folk introduced slavery, yes, but why was South Africa the only one to be punished and discriminated against by the rest of the world? Back then, nobody abroad wanted to remeber the fact that "aparthied" had been introduced in the early 1920's, an era when the South Africa was still pretty much part of the British Empire, and thus under magnate of the Queen. But she never took any flak about aparthied and rasicm, did she?
South Africa wasn't the only country to have aparthied - in America and England, they just called it "Segregation" - virtually a direct translation of the Afrikaans word "apartheid".
Look at any of the countries in Africa - all run by blacks, all dirt poor, most over-run by civil war. South Africa is the only "rich" country in Africa, for one f***ing reason - the evil, white regime had left behind a perfect superstructure and economy for the load of blacks that came in afterwards to take over. What happened? Our currency fucked up, our foreign relations are all fucked up (we're selling industrial equipment to Saddam to make biological weapons) and millions of blacks are dying every day of AIDS, something they say was made by aparthied... how STUPID could you possibly get?!
I don't know. I can't really judge being that I'm not living what you are, as you said. Although, if Afrika hadn't been colonized at all, maybe it would have turned out better. Obviously, this is a BIG FAT "What If" that would lead nowhere.
But, frankly, I don't perceive their attitude as being their fault or anything. They just suck at governing. :P Maybe this is the only way they know how to do things. It's hard to change. Doesn't happen overnight. Besides, again, I'm sure there are other ways to deal with this, other than taking out a missile launcher and blasting them all into oblivion. Lol.

silenced sonix it seems youre forgetting about our neighbour, botswana, who has gone from being one of the poorest countries in the world to a middle-income country these days. in fact if memory serves me correctly, they, and not sa, are regarded as the best credit risk in Africa.
the former regime did not leave behind a "perfect superstructure and economy for the load of blacks that came in afterwards to take over". in fact we can thank them for many of the problems encountered by the present south african government. not all the problems of course, but many of them.
whereas corruption was/is a known factor common to both regimes, the difference is, we actually know when its taking place these days. before we had a govenment run media that didnt hesitate to hide anything and everything it deemed to be incriminating.
another thing to bear in mind, is that many members of parliament of the previous government were squirreling money away into overseas bank accounts - helping to bleed the south african economy dry.
apartheid was responsible for "bantu education" - essentially ensuring that black people and people of colour got as pathetic an "education" as possible. so if you want to label black and coloured people as "stupid" and "brain dead" theres your main reason.
you cannot undo the "evils" of a government in place for many many years, in the space of 9 years [the period of time the democratically elected government of south africa has been in place]. remember, the ANC [african national congress] not only has to deal with the current inherent problems of south africa, but also the ones left behind after decades and decades of abuse by the NP [national party] and its predeccesors.
mind sets arent changed overnight either. it was a goal of the NP to ensure that all people of colour were not only treated as animals and lesser beings, but to make them think that of themselves as well - and how well they succeeded.
if things are going to change in south africa tho, everyone needs to realise there is no such things as racial superiority and that every human being, no matter how smart or not so smart, rich, poor, educated or uneducated, is equal - and that we are entitled to the same core things. in essence i think this goes for the rest of the world too.
and these are my thoughts.

Your disappointment is duly noted, however, being that we're open-minded due to t.A.T.u.'s image and message, a Nazi state of mind is slightly out of place. It's restrictive in the fact that it promotes the rising of a single "pure" race. Evidently, the majority of us are of different ethnicities. As such, it is obvious that there would be very litte Nazi supporters here. Other than yourself, of course.

Why can't people just get along? SS here is a Neo-Nazi, I'm a Marxist/Socialist and I don't recalling us arguing. He wanted to use a swastika back on our forums, but I asked him to take it off because some people might take offense to it because of it's reputation.
I, personally am not the communist kind of person (I don't 'like' people) but I still agree with the 'Theory'. Hitler was very clever, but he should have used the cleverness in another way.

1. keep in mind that we are all from different ethnicities

3. know that your oppinion will be respected by us as long as you respect ours

Another reason to leave cold Canada and come to my lovely, warm climate! We have things called 'beaches', with lots of warm white sand, and salty water, and lots of nice people on them. It's just the life! No cold, snowy stuff - heat, lovely heat!

Echoed, I've lived in Montreal for a while, and I've also BEEN to Syberia , so- no exageration here: practicly the same winter. Not at all like here, in Vancouver- we have +6+8 degrees all though the winter, and this one was quite a sunny one too.
As for a subject of "different races"- I have actually something to say here.
Why is it that being proud of your NATIONALITY (Oh, I AM FRENCH/ITALIAN/GERMAN/WHATEVER) considered to be normal, and even good, however whenever it comes to the RACE being proud of BEING WHITE is almost a crime?
Let us not forget, that being proud of your own ethnicity doesn't necessarily means think less of other peoples ethnicities, AND in any case- who created European civilization as we know it today?
Ah. But I never said that it was not good to be proud that you are "white". I did specify that Nazism implied that you thought other races were inferior. *Laughs.* Otherwise, I say be proud of who you are. Of course, you don't have to step on people's feet to achieve such a thing. ^_^

Gods! Today the temperature was at 43 C - do any of you people even have a remote idea how damn HOT that is?! It's almost 20:00 here, and I'm still sweating like a pig! Damn, I hate this! Can't winter just arrive?
We also get funky warnings like that - ours are just to warn people that "...today is a particluarly warm day, so wear that sunscreen and stay away from dry, bushy areas..." Imagine! Veldfire warnings!

Memory serving, Canadian summers are still damn cold, right? By SA standards, at least... Our summers peak above 40 deg. Celsius, and our winters rarely go below 12 deg. Clesius. - we SA folk are pretty warm-blooded, if y'know what I mean *nudge nudge wink wink*
